There are many native tribes in the U.S but, the one you will learn about while reading is, the Mohawk Indians. You're probably wondering where this tribe is exactly from and of course if you knew, they are from the Eastern Woodlands .If you have never heard of the Eastern Woodlands than you might think how they survive well what they hunt for food are: fish, buffalo, and dears and they grew crops which were: corn, beans, squash, artichokes, pumpkin, sunflower, tobacco and various Ned bal plants. But what you didn't know was that men hunted, traded, and even did war, while the woman farmed, cared for their belongings and takes care of the family. The children didn't do much except for playing with their friends, help at home, school work and they hunt and fish with their dad.
Now your probably wondering where they live, but don't worry ill tells you. They use to live in Adirondack mountains, but now they live in settlements throughout New York and South Eastern Canada, and, yes, their still alive. Their homes were wooden long houses, 100ft, long made of bent wooden poles, covered with bark on animal skin and sheets of Elm bark. For many families their houses can fit up to 60 people. Ill tell you some interesting facts like how in 1650, there were 5,000 people living their tribe but, 10 years later their were only 2,500. The people got killed by war and diseases. So the population kept dropping.-lavon
