The Makarov pistol was invented in 1951 by Russia and Soviet Union. This pistol was used in both the Soviet war in Afghanistan and in the Vietnam war.
I am certain there are a lot of users of the Makarov pistol out there. You may find some additional info on the pistol at surplusrifle.com. You may compare notes with Makarov owners at several on-line forums. Search for "makarov forum" and see what you get.

Not properly
9mm Makarov is the caliber of the pistol. To answer your question, we need the make and model of tthe pistol. There are some pistols that do not have a hi cap mag, and not all mags work in all pistols.

do not attempt to fire!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
NEVER SHOOT AMMUNITION IN A WEAPON NOT CHAMBERED FOR IT!!!!! Do not attempt this.
You must provide a detailed description of ALL markings in order for anyone to attempt an identification. The pistol you mention was made in the USSR and many of its satellite states.
I'll assume you mean "What is the range of the Makarov pistol?" I'll further assume that you refer to the classic PM (Пистолет Макарова). As with most military sidearms of the era, the effective range is around 50 meters.
I suggest you contact "Airguns of Arizona" they are the importers for this model. See the link below
Depending upon condition and serial number, a surplus Makarov pistol should cost between $300 and $450; but if you keep checking the pawnshops, you can often find one for under $200. Generally, Russian and East German models are more desirable, while Bulgarian models are very acceptable, and generally more likely to be available at the lower price range.
