Family law is a legal area where states probably differ the most, Each has its own rules and presumptions. There has been a traditional presumption in favor of the mother. Today, there are some cases where the father has acted as the primary parent before the divorce and so will continue that role. The law avoids gender discrimination. Rule of thumb - whatever parent had been going to the pediatrician or PTO before the divorce, they should continue the role and have last say in some situations unless there's good reason to change the situation.
Importantly, it is generally recognized that the best interest of the child is to have a good and engaged relationship with both parents. This may not be possible if one parent is unavailable, disinterested, or addicted to drugs and/or alcohol, but otherwise, courts will usually encourage a "co-parenting" arrangement, where each parent gets a significant amount of time with the child.
You cannot take a child out of the country without the consent of the other parent.
Only after approval of an Emergency Petition for Custody for a Child In Need of Care.
The age of majority in Ohio is 18. Under that age, if there is a dispute of custody during a divorce, a judge will determine who the child lives with. Of course, the judge can take into consideration a child's preference.
He may be. It will be determined by a court if he decides to take it up with the state. If you have custody, was there a stipulation regarding child support? If there was a divorce agreement it may state the stipulations regarding support and custody. If the custodial parent is giving up physical custody of the child to the previously non-custodial parent then child support may be changed.
No. You do not have the right to take the child if he has been placed in foster care. A child who is in foster care is a ward of the state. That child is under the legal custody of the Department of Child Services by virtue of a court order. The department has placed the child with a certified foster parent. A foster parent partners with that department to provide stability, food, clothing, housing and nurturing to a child who can no longer live with his/her birth parents. The foster parent interacts with the child's school and sees to medical needs. There is always the hope that the child will be reunited with their parents some time in the future. During the foster care period the parents rights are suspended although they may have visitation rights. If you have questions or concerns about your child's health or physical condition you should speak with the social worker in charge of your case.
Presumably, the custodial parent is the parent who has arranged for the child care and is the person who normally delivers the child and picks the child up after work. The child care worker can refuse to allow a parent to take a child if the custodial parent has provided a copy of a court order showing that the custodial parent has legal and physical custody. No unauthorized person should be allowed to take a child from day care.
Only with permission of the court and/or the other parent.
it is okay for one parent to work a job and for the other to stay at home and take care of a child as long as it makes the child and the parent happy! and if the child is getting the care that is needed and there is being enough money made to support the family.
Only NC has jurisdiction, nor should the child be taken away from the other parent.
Tell the parent or take care of it yourself. If they have a gun then tell the police or the parent of that child.
If the child is 18 or older, and is not in custodial care of the parent by the courts, they're legally an adult, and the parent has no legal right to lay claim to their tax returns.
Only with approval of the court. see my profile

If the child is a legal citizen they go to the closest legal relative, if there is no one to take the child they go into foster care. If the child is not a legal citizen they will be deported with the parent. If the child is a legal citizen and they aren't registered in school they can be deported with the parent as well.
No, they are still your responsibility. You are still their parent, and they are still a minor. You still have to help take care of them.
Children are only orphans when they have no legal guardian or parent to go to; also if the parent/guardian can't take care of the child.
