It convinced the South that the Abolitionists favoured violent revolution, and they began to prepare for armed resistance.//// One other aspect of the Raid and particularly its' aftermath I find interesting is this; John Brown was tried,convicted,and executed for TREASON against the STATE of Virginia. Treason against a State, not against the United States(Federal Government). I think that is interesting from a legal(Constitutional)perspective. What say you?!
