freedom from slavery was very important! the color of your skin shouldn't matter. also there were many events that causes the reason for this. There was the triangular trade which was when they packed hundreds of slaves on a boat and 15 to 25 of every 100 died. Also they could be held against their will and it was legal to kill your slave. now you know why it was so important for slavery to be band.
