Yes it is possible for a white man to turn black. In 1959 there was a white journalist, John Howard Griffin who realistically posed as a black man so he could document racism in the segregated south for six weeks by taking the anti-vitiligo drug Methoxsalen and by sitting under an ultraviolet lamp for around 15 hours a day. He also closely cut his hair and used dyes to even out his complexion in certain areas to complete his look. No one could tell he really wasn't black, and even close friends couldn't recognize him. He later published a book entitled "Black Like Me" in 1961 which was also adapted in to a movie in 1964. Back in his Texas hometown Griffin experienced much hostility after the book was published and he was forced to move to Mexico.
