Assuming, this question refers to an Electric solid body Bass guitar, what mostly matters is a personal preference. Thickness gauge, flt wound, round wound, Nickel, Nickel/Steel, coated, uncoated, and several other choices including tone created by fingering technique.

My suggestion is to locate a Brand, say Rotosound and review there website, visit some Bass Guitar forums or talk to a professional for opinions.

There are so many personal variables and preferences, playing techniques, tone and tensions, it's wise to do as much research as possible and keep apprised of tonal and playing qualities you demand.

There are however, strings you surely do not want to put on some bass Guitars as they may rip the truss rod out of the neck. You can always contact the guitar manufacturer for a referral for preferred strings on their instrument.

Acoustic Basses, Cellos, Stand up Basses are best with strings made for that specific instrument, in gauges and finishes. Wrong strings here can create neck warp.

For the beginner, a generic set of medium weight (gauge) round wound strings should be sufficient. Keep in mind if you are not sure of string gauge contact a professional to measure your original strings thickness and purchase a set of the same. Changing thickness or gauge will create a tuning problem and your bass will need to be reset to accommodate such a change, even though only being thousandths of an inch difference. if you require more on this subject feel free to contact me on Facebook at Xotech Guitars.

I have just bought a Peerless 3052 guitar. Someone told my it was made in the 1970's It has 3 steel strings and 3 nylon strings. Is this correct for this model?

Yes. The steel bass strings will have a braided nylon core. If in doubt buy a new set of classical guitar strings.

Can you convert regular acoustic guitar to an acoustic bass?

NO Bass is longer scale length and much more tension - you will ruin your acoustic. Flog it on Ebay and buy and acoutsic bass While the previous answer is correct to a point (a bass has a longer scale and more tension) I've seen it done by replacing the nut and bridge and using BEAD strings and tuning them to EADG.

How do yooh change a washburn rover guitar strings?

You don't! When the strings have become worn you throw away the guitar and buy a new one.

Can you buy a black and silver bass like the one pete wentz uses in the thnks fr th mmrs video?

It's more of a custom bass. It looks like a Squier P bass that he usually uses just with a black finish and chrome pick guard. You can buy a Precision bass and a chrome pick guard for it, then you'll have that bass. :)

Where can you get 5 strings Rogue bass guitar keys if they do not customer service in US?

They are doing you a favor, you dont want more of those junk rogue mechanisms anyway. Find a model of washburn or fender bass which has similar mechanisms & see if you can buy replacement parts for those instead. My rogue acoustic has washburn machines on it now & i didnt have to make any alterations at all.

What is the difference between Bass Guitar and Electric Guitar. What else should you buy with your first one?

A bass guitar has a longer neck and only four strings while an electric guitar has six strings. For both I would say buy an amp and most likely lessons as well, but if this is a little out of the budget, the amps is not needed and while lessons would help, a simple guitar/bass method book should suffice. An electric guitar is louder and a ''lead'' guitar. A bass,is lower pitch/sound to keep the song balenced. NOTE:if you wear headphones while listing to a song, you'll here the bass.

What is the thickest string on the bass guitar?

an ordinary bass guitar has 4 strings, the thickest being the E string, the thickness of this string depends on the players prefrence,if youll be downtuning a lot then a heavier string is the best option to help stop strings buzzing too much,it all depends on the style you play and personal prefrence,i use medium gauge strings so the E string is 0.105 inches thick, but depending on the gauge of the strings you buy it will be diffrent If you play a 5 string bass the thickest string will be the B string, again the medium gauge thickenss of these strings is 0.125 inches.as for 7 string basses and above im not sure since ive never had the chance to play them e string or if you have a 5 string bass it will be a b string

What would I need to do to convert an electric guitar to an electric bass with out buying all new set-ups?

Just buy a new guitar, but if you insist....1. buy bass pickups, and make sure they fit.2. buy a new head/neck with a 4 spaced nut, and four tuners.3. buy a new bridge, one with 4 string pass ways.all this for about 150 dollars, which is enough for a bassA:It is impossible. Bass guitars have lower frequencies and the strings are spaced farther apart, thus requiring a larger pickup. The length of neck affects innotation, meaning that a guitar neck would make the bass out of tune. Also, the neck needs to be better supported depending on the number of strings on the new bass. The bridge will need to be replaced as well, along with the nut. The tuner have to different sizes. You're better off just buying a bass guitar.

If I buy a bass how many frets do I want?

If you want to buy a bass, need to know what kind of style you want to play: If you want to play Guns 'N' Roses type of music (Metal/Rock) you'll want between 22-24 frets, as higher notes are played, wheras if you are playing Bluesy Rock it won't matter as much as you will only be playing lower down frets Well its Kind of in the middle...... To be safe, get a standard bass OR one with as many frets as you can reach with it strapped on. It is possible for bassists with small arms to have trouble like that...
