Authorize and Deauthorize Computer controls are accessed from the Store menu in iTunes.

To authorize a computer open the iTunes software and select Authorize Computer... from the Store menu at the top of the screen. (Next to the "file, edit, view, and control" tabs)

Register for an iTunes / Apple Account, Register Your Mac (if you are using one).

So lets recap,

If you are running a PC with windows, you must register for an account.

If you are running a mac, you must also register for an account. (But you also do so when you register your mac)

I'm tyring to put some songs on my friend's iPod. It's an older nano, and I've authorized my computer to play the songs, but the songs on the iPod will not transfer to my computer (4 of them), and I obviously cannot delete them. Any suggestions?

Suggestion 1:

Give up your sad life of petty criminal activity.

Suggestion 2:

Tell your friend to stop stealing stuff from other people and buy the songs they want on their iPod.

It's telling me that it's not able to transfer them because they were bought on iTunes on another authorized computer, which causes the problem.

It's telling you that you do not have the right to transfer items purchased from iTunes to someone else. Your purchases are for your own personal use. You are not allowed to sell them, give them away, or transfer them in anyway to anyone else. What you are trying to do is illegal. You are in breach of the rights owned by the holders of the copyright and distribution right for these items, and the terms you agreed to when the items were purchased from the iTunes store.

How do you transfer music that you bought on your iPhone 3g to another itunes music library?

I assume you have DRM songs stored on your iPhone. You have to authorize the computer you are working on. Please follow this simple procedure to solve your problem: 1. Run iTunes 2. Click on Store -> Authorize computer... 3. Close iTunes 4. Transfer your songs using a third-party software such as CopyTrans (http://www.copytrans.net) 5. Then, you will be able to play DRM songs in iTunes. I hope this will help to solve that issue.

How do you put your old iPod music onto your new iPod?

If you have music backups of the old iPod in iTunes, you can easily sync the songs with the new iPod. If you don't have backups, you are also able to transfer purchased songs from the old iPod to iTunes using the "Transfer Purchases" function of iTunes. You won't be allowed to transfer the songs from the old iPod to computer or new iPod if the songs are not from iTunes. This is how to transfer music from old iPod to new iPod with the "Transfer Purchases" function of iTunes: Step 1. Plug the Old iPod into computer via the USB cable. Then launch iTunes. Step 2. Click "File > Device > Transfer Purchases". iTunes will automatically transfer the songs to iTunes library. Step 3. Plug the new iPod into computer. Then import the songs from iTunes to the new iPod.
