How do you change a harmonic balancer on a 1999 Jeep Cherokee 4.0 L?

Remove the belt. Remove the bolt that attaches the harmonic balancer. Rent or purchase a harmonic balancer puller. Follow the Instructions with the puller and remove the old balancer. Install the new balancer making sure to line up the keyway, a little oil helps. Put the retaining bolt back in and tighten to manufacture specs.

Well.......... There is an item that is called a Harmonic Balancer. Can be a pain in the butt! I replaced mine in my 1999 Jeep sport. I guess now that I have done it I guess I would replace one again. You can get a loaner tool to pull it out from most auto parts stores. A day and some patence..... I did it.
