First go to the hardware store and buy a Torx driver, size T10. Locate screws (near vents) and remove the dash panel. Now remove the two screws and "factory plastic brackets" that hold the Automatic Climate Controls to the Radio. Disconnect wires and antenna (if instaling a new deck you'll need a GM antenna adapter and extension/mounting kit, there's not much depth there). Attach the climate controls to the NEW mounting extension kit with the "factory plastic brackets." It's frusturating but very simple.
