The motor that raises and lowers the antenna is controlled by a wire which is connected to the power switch in the stock radio. The wire from the antenna itself has nothing to do with raising and lowering the antenna. Touch the wires that were connected to the stock radio to a hot wire and see if the antenna starts to move. If if does, hook that wire to the wire from the new radio which is supposed to control the antenna motor. If there is no such wire, connect the antenna motor wire to the Accessory circut. The antenna will go up whenever the key is turned on. Or, you can get fancy and install a switch for it.

You can get a new mast for the antenna from any Hyundai dealer. This happens a lot and they usually stock them. If you can get all of the old mast out, it's a rather simple procedure, although it can be tricky to get the antenna to grab the new mast. 1. Remove the nut holding the mast into the antenna (12mm I think). 2. Turn the radio on and pull the antenna mast out. There should be a round disc and a ball on the bottom. If not, you'll need to remove the antenna assembly and take the rest of the pieces out of the antenna. If the disc and ball are present, continue with step 3. 3. Push the plastic of the new antenna mast down into the antenna as far as possible. 4. Have an assistant turn off the radio while you're pushing the plastic into the antenna. 5. If the antenna does not grab onto the mast, return to step 2. Otherwise, continue with step 6. 6. Install and tighten the mast nut. 7. Turn the radio on. 8. Turn the radio off. Your mast should now be properly seated. 9.there is a plastic washer also inside that you will have to force the mast thru to get it the set in the motor ! if you cann't push thru , next step take out motor and remove the tube for antenna, you find in sitting inside make sure connect it back the same it is stting , after that replace in car, have someone turn and off radio, job done
