Unlike earlier model fords, these do not have the 4 holes on the faceplate to use the special tool on.
1) Open the cup holder
2) Gently pry both the left and right lower edges of the bezel that cover the radio and environmental controls. Note: there are six metal clips on the bezel. Two on the bottom, two along the sides of the radio and two at the top of the bezel.
3) Using a small flat bladed screw driver unclip the airbag light.
4) Allow the bezel to hang from the wires to the environmental controls.
5) Remove the four black screws holding the radio in.
6) Using that small flat-bladed screw driver remove the large electrical connector(s) on the back of the radio and pull the antenna cable with your hand.
First remove the cowling from around the stereo - you should be able to pull it off with your fingernails, if not, insert popscicle sticks or a plastic knife into the crack and working your way around the cowling gently pry it off. On the front of the stereo you will see four holes. The holes provide access to tension clips that hold the radio into the console. All you need to do is put a small screwdriver into all four holes at the same time (though I've been able to do one side at a time before) and the radio will slide right out.
First you need to remove the trim around the instrument cluster, and heater controls. This ia one solid piece and there are a few screws holding in in place. Once you remove that the stereo should be able to be removed and wiring exposed
