You have to remove the screws holding the dash faceplate. Once you have removed the faceplate, the radio should have four screws holding it in place. You have to pull the ashtray out and there should be two screws behind it also they are there on the 94 and 95. The switches ( hazzard, wipers headlight etc.)can be pulled off no tools needed for those. As far as the dash faceplate you will need a Phillips and a flat screwdriver. Be gentle!!
First you need to remove the trim from the console around the shifters by:
1. Unscrewing a small bolt in the side of the 4WD shift knob
2. Prying off the trim using a small screwdriver - it is held in place by clips
3. Remove this trim piece - you can set it aside without completely disconnecting it
Then you can pry off the center trim piece around the radio/vents/HVAC controls etc. - the vents, clock, ashtray etc. will pop off as one piece. This piece also has clips that hold it in place. You may have to shift out of Park into Low to clear enough space to remove it. You won't need to disconnect any of the wiring harnesses as they are long enough to allow you to slide the center trim piece out of the way.
Then you should be able to see 4 bolts (8mm) holding the radio in place - remove them and the radio will slide right out.
You will then need to disconnect a wiring harness and two antenna connectors from the back of the radio.
Then reinstall everything the same way it came out.
Presto, you are done!
