First Your Gonna Remove The Dash Trim Molding, Than Remove I Belive Its 3 Screws (One Is Hidden Under The Stereo Itself) From The Stereo Bracket, Pull Out The Stereo, Unclip The Power Dissconnect, And Unplug The Antenna. If You Wanna Reuse The Bracket There Are A Few Screws Holding The Bracket To The Stereo. If You Are Gonna Install An Aftermarket Stereo, Youll Need To Go Buy A Stereo Mounting Kit At Where You Buy The Unit. You'll Also Need To Buy An Antenna Extension. If You Dont Want To Spend The Extra Cash To Get The Adapter For The Power/Speaker Wiring, You Can Go To The12voltdc.com And You Can Find A Wiring Diagram For The Speakers, And The Power Wires. Pretty Much Install Is The Same As Reverse. If Ya Need Any More Help, email Me At ss101504@Yahoo.com.

You need to gently pry off the console molding using a flat head screw driver. Start at the top, gently remove that. Then, you'll see the radio exposed, there are some screws around the radio which you can unscrew and pull out the radio unit which is big and chunky, you'll have to unplug the speaker wire from the radio to remove it entirely. To replace, I bought a face plate kit from Wal Mart, along with the new stereo unit and a speaker wire adapter plug. Match up the wires from the adapter to the new stereo's wires (the wire adapter should have a diagram and the wires should themselves be labled: L speaker, R speaker, L Rear Speaker,..etc. Now, making the face plate fit and screwing it back into the dash takes some doing. I had to drill a couple of holes in the original bracket which I took off of the Geo Radio and put around the new radio with the face plate. The new radio will be much smaller than the old Geo Delco radio so you have to make it look good by adding the face plate, then attaching the speaker wire plug on the geo to the new radio with spliced wire connection, then screw in the radio, then fit the center console cover back over the whole thing. This last part required a bit of pushing and pressure to make the console face plate go back on over the new radio but it should work out. Sounds complicated I know but it'll work.

open up the armrest there are 2 screws. remove the shift knob. use something thin to pop the button out of the shifter. After you get the top piece removed from the shift knob and your transmission is a stick use a pair of vise grips to pull up the metal piece you have to use a bit of force but it will come out. if you have an auto tranny use something thin to pop out the shifter button and then youll need a pair of snap ring pliers... squeeze the snap ring and and lift up the shift knob at the same time. Then there are 2 torx nuts in the middle air vent you have to remove above the hvac control head and then move the black plastic pieces to the right over to reveal another couple screws they can be difficult to get to. after that you should be able to get the main trim ring off. Their are 4 screws holding the radio in...take them out and pull the radio forward just enough to reach behind and unplug the two plugs for the radio...there is no antenna to unplug as the antenna wire is plugged in to the receiver deeper in the dash. Oh you didnt know there were two pieces. They are called the head unit (radio) and the receiver. If youre just trying to remove the radio to have it repaired youre all set. If youre going to put an aftermarket radio in youll need to get a gm antenna adapter (do an internet search) but if youre going to go aftermarket radio you have to go aftermarket speakers and all new wires because Bose speakers don't run at 4 ohm impedence like typical aftermarket radios and they also don't use the radio grounds they use body grounds so if youre not an audiophile just do an internet search for "BOSE CORVETTE RADIO REPAIR" and youll get a lot of info

my advice is that you go to where you bought the car. you can ask how there and they may give some recommendations to what you should use also.
