This is not legal advice and should not be relied upon as such. Consult the specific laws for the state and county in which you reside for the rules that apply. In most states, any 18 year old is considered an adult and is capable of deciding when and where they reside. They have the ability to contract for housing. SOME states allow minors to become emancipated under specific circumstances, but this is not just a matter of filling out some paperwork. A minor is the responsibility of their parents until such time as they reach the age of majority or are legally emancipated. The parents are required to provide for the support of their minor children. If the parents give permission, the minor can live in another location. Such permission does not relieve the parents of the responsibility to provide support. If the parents do not give permission, the minor can be considered a runaway. Charges may apply to individuals that aid and abet such runaways, particularly if they are under the age of consent. In some states it is my understanding that this is not enforced for 17 year olds that leave home. If you are subject to abuse, you should contact social services for your area. They will assist you in getting out of the bad environment and into a safe place.
Nothing. Unfortunately, there is no law in any state that I know of that says a person has to graduate high school or live at home past age 18. There is simply nothing a parent can do, even if the 18 yr old is at risk, using drugs, pregnant etc. to force an 18 yr old to come back home and go to school. It is his/her life, and 18 you have to let them live it, whatever the consequences. Obviously leaving school is a really bad choice. If the question was written by the 18 year old, get back in school and at least finish with a HS diploma. Good luck, Jen

No, Niall is still in the band. Zayn Malik however did leave the band in March 2015.
Carly Rae Jepsen "started" in music while still in high school. She worked in pubs, not as a waitress but as an entertainer.
Yes, parental permission to move out before you are 18 does not mean you are emancipated. She is still responsible for you.
no unless thay pass thiere classes
It's still there. It has changed since I was there '63-'65 but the churches, the school, the auditorium and such is still there.
In Virginia, the legal age of majority is 18. This means that an 18-year-old who is still in high school can legally leave home without parental consent.
Yes. They are an adult at 18, even if they're still in school, so you certainly can ask/tell them to leave.
An 18 year old is, by law, considered an adult. If he or she decides that it's time to move out, then he or she has the right to do so. However, if the teen is still in High School it wouldn't be such a good idea.
You shouldn't be asking this question ! You're in school to learn - not play games ! Still - never mind - when you leave school with no qualifications McDonalds will alwaysneed toilet cleaners !
No, not common, but it did happen occasionally. In fact, it still happens, but very rarely.
He was still in High School...he didn't have a job :)
Depends on what you want to leave or stay with. But look at the good and bad side of leaving. If you still don't know what to do, wait patiently because something will happen that usually helps you with your decision.
Yes as long as your parents have signed. I was in the Navy and knew a few 17 year olds. It all depends on when your training starts. It depends. you will need parental consent and a high school diploma or GED. IF you are still in high school, then you will have to graduate. Then you will leave. in the army national guard, you can be in the army and still be in school and get paid for weekend drills. - Army Recruiter
yes your still considered innocent. unless you were bailed out then you would have to get with your bailbondsman but i wouldn't they would tell you no you cant leave.
