This wasn't actually by Michael Jackson- he only did a cover version of it, it was originally released by Bobby Day in 1958.
Basically, it's a nonsense song about a robin chirrupping rock & roll- he lives in a suburban street and is the best singer out of all the birds in the neighbourhood, regardless of species. He sings all day to a bopping beat, beating the talents of all the other birds and winning the hearts of female robins! It's a late '50s joke song about the idea of birds being able to sing rock and bop music.
He rocks in the tree tops all day long
Hoppin' and a boppin' and a singing his song
All the little birdies on Jay-Bird street
Love to hear the robin go tweet, tweet, tweet.
Rockin' robin tweet tweet tweet
Rockin' robin tweet tweet tweet
Blow rockin' robin
Cause' were really gonna' rock tonight.
Every little swallow evey chickadee
Every little bird in the tall oak tree
The wise old owl,the big black crow
Flappin'their wings singing " Go Bird Go!"
Rockin' robin tweet tweet tweet
Rockin' robin tweet tweet tweet
Blow rockin' robin
Cause' were really gonna' rock tonight.
I saw a little raven at the bird-band stand
I taught him how to bop and it was grand
They started going steady and bless my soul
He-out bopped the buzzard and the oriol!
He rocks in the tree tops all day long
Hoppin' and a boppin' and a singing his song
All the little birdies on Jay-Bird street
Love to hear the robin go tweet, tweet, tweet.

No, the song was written by a J. Thomas, and was originally recorded by Bobby Day.
Yes, it was one of their songs.
n,
Rocking Robin Fits the cipher, but it is NOT a Christmas Song at all. Okay there was some juvenile story- the Birds" Christmas Carol, but this had nothing to do with Rockin" Robin, which was recorded by Bobby Jay ( appropriate name) and was later revived by, as usual the Jackson Five.
The Jackson Five in 1970.
The Jackson five made some of the best known songs in the 70s - 80s that we know of today. Some of their most memorable songs are; 'Can you feel it', 'Rockin' Robin', 'Dancing machine', 'Blame it on the boogie', 'Shake your body (Down to the ground)' and 'ABC'.
There are a lot of lyric websites that have a wide collection of lyrics. To find lyrics for ABC 123 one could visit websites such as Sing365, Poem Hunter and Metro Lyrics.
