Well I am not positive on what Laney Amps sound like, or what amp you are talking about by Laney b/c they have a lot. But in general this is what you want:
The entire album American Idiot has a pretty consistent guitar tone, and this is a good way to replicate it. They just take a huge stack, crank it up full throttle, and stick a mic in front of it. Once again, I don't know what amp you have so I can't get too detailed, but here's a pretty universal description. Set the Dist from a 4-7 range. Set the Treble from a 2-4 range. Set the bass to like 5-7. Set the mid to 10. Turn it up loud. You may need to adjust it a little in order to perfect it, but that's a pretty general Green Day setting.

well this is certainly a good question, in this song Billie uses a Les Paul junior and a Marshall amp( a few effect pedals are also used) . The settings are given below:
Guitar-
Volume-8
Tone-5
Amp-
Volume-8
Treble-3
Mid-6
Bass-4
Reverb-3
Pedals-
Overdrive(used in the main riff)-
Tone-9
Gain-7
Volume-7
Distortion-
Tone-5
Gain-9
Volume-9
You can ask Laney through the website linked below.
Usualy I use Bass-5 Gain-9 Mids-7-8 Treble-10
They probably have different settings for different songs.
aha sweet a fellow green day fan.. Well Sometimes it depends on your amp and you wont sound Exactly like green day but you will have their Distortion and everything...Here are the amp settings you need to get a somewhat Green Day sound:gain: 8treble: 6mid: 4/5bass: 8reverb: 2If you dont have some of these settings it wont really matter, just toy around and you'll somewhat get the right sound...Good luck!
Probably because the tone settings on your amp or guitar are boosting that frequency range.

I ran it with that amp and it started clipping, so lower the settings on amp, the amp is a monster!!!

If you want to reset any settings on a electronic machine one way is to turn the machine off overnight
it really depends on what pedal you get not really as much of the settings on your amp man. i suggest a mesa pedal bro
maybe, if you put it in the right place. to make it as loud as it can be put it high up and facing in the right direction
Laney Amp RB1 15 watts, Hartke System Amp HD25, 25 watts, Roland Amp CB60XL 60 watts
You'll be able to get a sound out of it for practice, but the tone probably won't be very good. The size of the speaker cone required to produce the bass (12") means it won't really be responsive enough to deal with the higher note on the guitar successfully.I don't THINK it'll damage guitar or amp. It shouldn't damage your bass amp, but if you use a bass with a guitar amp it will pretty much destroy the amp.
all you do is turn mid up all the way
