i had the same noise coming from my 97 gt, but kept driving it as it didnt appear that anything was wrong. shortly after that on the highway my left front tire flew off, the bolts were too tight and broke off one of the posts. have it looked at, now.
try checking the rear engine mount, sometimes they get a rock or ice or anything stuck in it and therefor causes the vehicle to rumble
your float is stuck in the carburetor. Clean it with carb cleaner.
have you checked to see if the antenna is coming up all the way? they tend to get stuck if not lubed regularly.
Rear brakes improperly adjusted or parking brake cable frozen
If by this you mean only "hot heat" when drive at highway speeds likely thermostat bad and/or almost stuck and takes long time warm up from high engine RPM during highway driving.
A wolf pack is an impassable clump of cars on the highway that is basically stuck going the same speeds. These even occur in otherwise free-flowing driving conditions.
The thermostat could be stuck shut or the water pump could be bad. These are the two most common causes of this problem.
First start would be to check the antifreeze and if that is full then I would check into the Thermostat and make sure it is stuck. If it is Full and heats up real fast then my guess would be the thermostat.

Could be your cooling fan. And depending on what year your car is, you could have two cooling fans. My cavalier did the same thing. The fan would try to go on when the car heated up, but couldn't. I heard a distinct humming noise with it. It didn't cause any problems until I got stuck on the highway in the summer and my car almost overheated. Take it to a service station.
