the p c v valve is the only thing that pops into my mind, positive crankcase vent. hope this helps
The correct torque spec is 85 INCH lbs.
A 1997 Jeep 4.0L does not have a pcv valve. It uses an orifice in the top of the valve cover.
The 2002 Grand Vitara EGR valve is located on top of the engine. The EGR valve will be between the engine and the battery.
Chrysler transmissions do not have modulator valves.
It's fairly simple. There should be one air line plugged into the valve cover that just pulls out, then you remove the bolts holding the valve cover on. Scrap off the old gasket being sure not to get a bunch of little pieces into the valves or valve springs, put the new gasket and the valve cover back on. The bolts should be tightened in a pattern similar to a tire but be sure you do not tighten them much. Just snug the bolts up evenly. Re-insert the air line and your good to go.

how to change a valve cover gasket on a 97 mercury grand marquis ?
It is the Positive Crankcase Ventilation (PCV) valve.
either tighten the valve cover bolts, or replace the gaskets.
Remove the valve cover.....scrape off old gasket.....clean gasket surface on valve cover....apply gasket sealent to valve cover gasket surface.....set gasket in sealent.....reinstall valve cover.
Replace it.
4.0L does not have a PCV valve, it uses an orifice in the rear of the valve cover.
Gasket that goes between head and valve cover to prevent leaks

The valve cover gasket, on a 2004 Jeep liberty, can be found by removing the valve cover. Peel the gasket off of the head and replace with a new gasket.
Assuming you mean "valve cover gasket", the gasket seals the valve cover to the head so as not to leak oil.
No, they are located under the valve cover.
