Considering these pedals are priced under $50.00 USD, they both are pretty good effect pedals for the money. They're analog pedals, not digital like BOSS, Digitech, etc... The Chorus pedal is surprisingly good and rivals the sound of more expensive chorus pedals on the market. The Flanger is really nice too, although it adds some volume to your sound. Personally, I actually prefer the Starcaster Flanger over the more expensive BOSS BF-3 Flanger. Both Starcaster pedals are true bypass and produce minimal hiss when on. Unlike most effects pedals, the battery compartment is on the top, but I definitely recommend using an 9 volt AC adapter as they drain batteries pretty quick. The only downside on these pedals are their large size. I would have preferred a smaller size, but they are well built. These pedals might be inexpensive and marketed towards guitar novices, but they sound great. Just because they're cheap in price doesn't mean they're not good. Remember those cheap Danelectro Guitars? Many frowned upon them as inexpensive beginner guitars until Jimmy Page of Led Zeppelin played them. Who knows? 20 years from know, these inexpensive "beginners" pedals may be highly sought after for their lush analog sound.

What effect pedal do you use for smells like teen spirit?

Well, the intro is obviously clean sound, then verse a little bit grunge-like sound and in the solo probably chorus/flanger. This is mostly correct. You will need a distortion pedal (if your amp has distortion, that will work but the correct pedal would be a Boss DS-1), a chorus pedal (any chorus will work but the pedal used in the recording is a Electro Harmonix Small Clone) and some kind of compression/sustainer. The comp pedal isn't required...most people get by without it when they cover the song. But a compression effect is used in the recording. The first part of the intro is clean, the second is distorted. Use the chorus for the verses and the prechorus, then switch it off and go back to the distortion for the chorus and preverse. Use all the effects for the solo.

What is the purpose of a chorus pedal?

A chorus pedal on a guitar repeats the signal you input at very close intervals so that it sounds as though there are several guitars playing instead of merely one guitar. This can give a very interesting effect and many musicians find it useful.

Check the foot switch is probably what is failing normally this is the part that has more wear and tear because of the constant use of not having a solution study the possibility of buying a new foot switch as last recommendation to fail the previous purchase a pedal new

it is easier to pedal with longer cranks because you have more leverage but it is not necessarily better to have really long cranks.
