George Harrison was a school friend of Paul McCartney; they met riding the same bus back and forth every day. When McCartney joined John Lennon's initial band the Quarry Men in 1957, fourteen-year-old Harrison began tagging along to their shows, bringing his guitar. If another member didn't show up, he was allowed to fill in for them.
Harrison could already outplay the rest of the Quarry Men's guitarists, but wasn't considered at first for membership because of his young age. Lennon thought of him as a "bloody kid" who tended to get in the way, but was gradually won over; Harrison would play "Raunchy", a mutual favorite song, anytime Lennon wanted. Over time the rest of the band quit, leaving just Lennon, McCartney and Harrison.
Ringo Starr was the drummer for the Beatles.
Ringo Starr was the last member to join, shortly before they recorded their first single, "Love Me Do". (Former drummer Pete Best had failed the band's EMI audition, and was to be substituted on their records with a studio drummer. The band decided it would be better to replace him completely. Best had never really been close with the other Beatles; Starr fit right in with them.)

Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr are the only Beatles still alive.
Early in the Beatles career, Ringo said he wanted to buy a hairstyling shop. It sounded like a reasonable investment.
He was 22.
It is not known who influenced Ringo Starr, but since he was the last person to join the Beatles, it could have been the Beatles themselves who inspired Starr.

Not always, no. Before joining what became The Beatles, Ringo was the drummer in another band called Rory Storm and the Hurricanes, which was a skiffle group out of Liverpool. At the time, Pete Best was still The Beatles' drummer. Both bands played gigs together, and at times when Best missed shows, Ringo would fill in. He was eventually asked to join the band.

Yes, the Beatles actually added several members to their band. Originally George was not part of the band, but still filled in as needed. After a few years he became one of the Beatles. Also, Ringo was not the Beatles' first drummer, the first drummer left the band so they let Ringo (real name Richard Starkey) join.
