If you have a key and simply need a spare you can call your local Chrysler OR Jeep dealer and give them the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN). They can cut a key for your Jeep. If you don't have a key you will need to take the vehicle to the dealer and they will cut and code a key to fit your suv. I hope your situation is the first because the second option is a bit expensive. (hope this was helpful)

Will bolt up, but will not shift. The 1998 is controlled differently by the computer.
It must be on the same location as in my 96 Grand Cherokee. Behind the spare tire there is a small door you can open and there you find that module. You got to remove the spare tire to see it.
