Louis Agassiz lived in various locations during his life, primarily in Europe and the United States. He was born in Switzerland and later moved to Germany for his education. In 1846, he settled in the United States, where he spent much of his career in Cambridge, Massachusetts, serving as a professor at Harvard University and founding the Museum of Comparative Zoology.
