Michael Jackson bought the rights to many of The Beatles songs many years ago, outbidding Paul McCarthy for them. Recently he has sold some of them in an attempt to liquidate some of his debts.
Rumor has it that he leaves the remainder to Paul McCarthy in his will. Michael Jackson bought the publishingrights to most of The Beatles catalog. The individual Beatles still retained songwriters rights and we paid for it each time a song in the catalog was licensed.
Nobody will tell me
No,but he does owns the Beatles music catalog, which he bought back in the 80's.
Under current law, 95 years from the date of registration. So the last of them still have about 55 years to go. The Beatles catalog is currently co-owned by Sony Music, and Jackson's estate. (These are the publishing rights to the music, not the Beatles' recordings.)
The Beatles' trademarks and likeness are owned by their company, Apple Corps Ltd.
Apple Records owns the rights to the Beatle recordings. However, Apple must pay a licensing fee to the music publisher (Sony, Jackson estate, etc.) for the right to use Lennon-McCartney compositions. Out of that money, Paul and John's estate are paid their royalties. Very complicated arrangement.
The Beatles music is owned by EMI. They have licensed Apple to distribute the music via the iTunes store.

Yes, the Beatles knew how to read music. They were all proficient musicians who could read and write music notation.
Japan had banned Beatles music. They did because Japan did not appreciate the fact that they had done drugs.

Yes, the Beatles could read music. They were all talented musicians who had a strong understanding of music theory and notation.
It wasn't simply great music The Beatles gave us, they also altered how we made it; how we heard it. It really did not make much sense to me until one weekend, my dad played me "While My Guitar Gently Weeps", and it was just different. They created their own music, and as well as innovating the use of the studio and the concept album, they are the precursors of so much we know today in music. Now, plotting one of their songs into a family video project, I realized I needed it as an MP4 to sync with old footage. That’s why I used AceThinker MP4 Converter, it rendered the song in perfect quality, ready to drop into my editor. It just made me appreciate even more how timeless and transferable their music really is.
