I have a 1996 Aurora and it does the same thing. I think this is a "nicety" and stays on so you can gather your stuff and still listen to the radio until you open the door. Then it shuts off. Being a GM product as well, it wouldn't surprise me if it was the same thing going on. Functioning as designed.
we have 3 cavaliers the switch in the door jam, for the dome light goes bad. that causes the radio to stay on.
I have a 2002. It doesn't turn off for a few minutes unless you open the driver side door.
Did it ever shut off?
You could have a bad door switch on your drivers door
A piano keyboard has keys, and a door needs a key to be locked and opened so a piano and door are alike because both have/need keys.
my 2008 Chevy Colorado radio stays on when you take the key out ,but turns off automatically when you open the door Yes it should stay on until someone opens a vehicle door
If your radio will not shut off when you turn off the car, there may be an issue with the wiring. If your car has the feature where your radio will not turn off until you open the door, that is normal. However, if you have an aftermarket radio, the wiring is most likely the cause.
There is a switch in the door, when the switch is activated the light comes on, not the microwave itself. Additionally the switch actually prevents the microwave from activating (while the door is open).
The radio should go off on it's own after a few minutes or when the passenger door is opened.
If radio goes off when door is opened - normal condition vehicle designed to operate this way Also electric windows will operate after key removed before door is opened
Remove the fuel cap on the 2003 Pontiac. Remove the plastic cover around the filler pipe by taking the two screws out. Under the plastic there are two nuts that hold the door and hinge assembly on. Remove them and the door will come off.
The door was opened by whom.
Probably the body computer is not shutting down. Ck drivers door switch for problem. Radio should shut off when any door is opened with key off.
In your glove box there is a small access door-at least that is where it is on my 2002
there is screws around the door panel and the right under the handle there is 2 of them then your door is off hope this helps you :)
it shuts off when you open the driver side door....
Look in the glove box. There is a separate door in the glove box whtch should be very easily opened.
the Yukon has a dome overide switch located next to the headlight switch it has a little light bulb drawing on it that controls if the interior light works or not radio stays on for 5-10 minutes after car is shut off by design unlss door is opened. if radio still stays on when door is opened and lights still don't work after the dome overide is reset ten your problem involves the door switch itself= the swithc that recognizes when the door is open or losed
Where is it? I'm not positive about your model, but try opening the driver's side door and looking on the end of the dashboard. There may be a little door there. The fuses are inside.
