It could be the distributor cap and rotor or it could be the ignition coil.
Check the security system. I know it shuts off fuel, and may cut off spark as well in some circumstances. To reset alarm, insert key into drivers door when shut and lock and unlock twice. - I had this problem with my Cherokee.
addition>>> also check you oil pressure sensor, (most fuel injected engines will not start if there is no pressure on cranking, some use a separate sensor, not sure on the GC though...), and the computer... and of course the ignition module itself... Makes you long for a good old fashioned dual point system at times, don't it?
in some ways it did and in some ways it didnt.
Go to an AutoZone. They have the little plug in boxthat checks your computer. Usually it's from stuff like piston mis-fires. They might be able to look at it and reset it. It might not go away imediatly, but it worked on mine.
Personal checks can come in a variety of styles and personalized appearances. There are checks with sports themes, different colors, and even in some instances, personal images as the background.
That's a tough question to answer definitively, but my 93 Jeep Cherokee Sport has 252,000+ miles on it and it's still running reasonably well now in 2009. I bought it new in '93 and simply gave it regular service checks. The biggest issue I have had with it is overheating. I hear that's a common problem with earlier model Cherokees. Just look at the paint on the hood of almost every Cherokee over 5 or 6 years old. I recently took it in for servicing because it was leaking oil from just about everywhere except the filter. All the seals and gaskets seemed to wear out at the same time, so I had them all replaced. It was rather an expensive proposition, but considering it's 16 years old with over 250K miles on it, that's not too bad. I intend to keep my Cherokee until the motor falls off and then I'll have it restored and keep on driving it. My daughter's '88 Cherokee Laredo had 270,000 miles on it and was running OK right up until it was stolen late in 2008.
Yes, Jennifer Lopez checks her mail.
The assumption is that it's cranking normal but not catching. If it's cranking slowly, have the battery and charging system tested. If that all checks out, it might be bad bushings on the starter making it crank a little too slow. If it's cranking ok, it's probably something else. Start by reading the dagnostic code. If that doesn't give you any clues, try running the engine at night, in the dark. Look at the engine while it's running and see if there are any sparks comming from the wires. I don't know if a Sunbird of that vintage has a distributor or the coil packs. If it's a distributor, check the inside for spark traces or other signs of damage to the distributor cap.
in some ways it did and in some ways it didnt.
The single spark you get is when the ignition control module reacts to the key being turned to or from the start position. My first thought is to check the distributor module and the wiring (known to deteriorate) that runs under the engine from the distributor to the ignition control unit. Also have a look at the ballast resistor located near the coil for a loose wire or corroded connector.
dead or low cranking amp on battery or if that checks out, most likely the alternator.have you mechanic run a resistance load and that will tell the story
There could be several things to cause no spark, but one I have ran into is the Ignition Control Module inside the distributor or the coil inside is bad. If your plug wires are good and your wiring to the distributor checks out, then it's either the coil or the ignition control module. Both are inside the distributor.
Coca-Cola typically looks back 7-10 years on background checks. This can vary based on the position and local regulations.
Did you swap the high tension wires? If, for instance, the wire from the coil to the center terminal of the distributer was faulty there would be no spark at any of the plugs. Also, you can check for loose or corroded ground bolt connections on any and all of the ignition components. Gary.
New battery fixed the problem.
I have done some due dilligence on Cherokee Gas Systems, the company has been in business for 18 years and seem to have no complaints. I checked with Oklahoma tax commission who show records of oil being sold in 2009. So far everything checks out! ____________________
equal protection under the law. The act violated the rights of the Cherokee to their ancestral lands and forced them to relocate against their will. This policy undermined the principles of justice and equality enshrined in the Constitution.
There is no difference between regular checks and deluxe checks. Deluxe is the name of the company that makes the checks. For example, there are Deluxe checks and there are BECU checks.
The types of checks can be divided into two main categories namely: checks and the drafts. The checks have various sub groups like personal checks, business checks, traveler's checks, substitute checks, interest bearing checks, blank checks and teller's check. The drafts on the other other hand consist of insurance drafts and convenience checks.
