== == We found it located in behind the right side of dash board, in behind the glove box. For our 1993 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo
The only way i found to disarm the alarm was to use the back hatch lock. lock it and unlock it a few times with the key. if this doesnt work try the door locks
Put the key in the driver's door (from the outside), and unlock the door. That resets the security system.
My 94 Jeep Grand Cherokee has the issue that if I lock all the doors with the automatic lock. I can't unlock the door on the driver side with the key without the Security Alarm going off. To resolve this issue, I have to go to the passenger side, unlock the door there with the key, then go around to the driver side and open the door on the driver side with the key.
When you turn the key off and lock the doors, there will be a red light on the top of the dash that flashes while the alarm arms.
How do I disengage my security system for a 1998 town and country with out a key
Most likely.
i had that happen to me be for and we had to take it to a dealer and have them reset the computer in your vehicle.
have same trouble i would like to know myself
There never was a 1974 Jeep Grand Cherokee.
It is located in the console on a 95 jeep grand cherokee.
I would take it to either the dealer or a shucks/autozone asap to have the battery/alternator checked. You could have a open wire, or an alternator problem. Once the battery gets really low you will not be able to turn off the security system and you will have to have it towed to the dealer to have a new battery and the system reprogrammed. You will not be able to jump start the jeep because the security system will not disengage if the battery is dead FYI, I tried that it didnt work.
there is a switch on the inside of the rear door above the latching mechanism. Just give it a flip
You disarm the security by unlocking the doors with a key or remote.

The dealer security system maybe the root cause of your problems. If the security key is broken, it will shut the gas pump off for good....you will need to replace the on-board engine computer.
Car security systems work in two ways. First, alarms alert people to the attempt at theft. Second, electronic systems may disengage the electronic start of the engine, prohibiting the car from being driven away.
