Yes. If you wind the strings improperly it matters. Strings should be wound from the string hole down, (from high to low, or from the hole to the neck). If you do it the other way around, the tuning peg has more stress on it, and is more likely to not stay in tune. Never put more stress on the guitar neck or the headstock than you have to. You will stay better in tune for longer if you string properly.

What happens when you tighten the stringson a dotar?

the pitch of the string goes higher. if it doesn't, then either something's wrong with said guitar, or I'm wrong and you should go ask Albert Einstein or your guitar teacher or someone who's smart.

What are the easiest acoustic guitar strings to play and have the best sound For an Acousticelectric guitar?

the best string size for this is 8-38 but their very quiet and break easily. its best to just stick with light gauge 9-42 until your fingers develop strength. Think of it like weight training. My advice is to lower the action as its much easier if your strings are low to the fretboard and of course lower tunings aren't as brutal to your fingers.

Can you put violin strings on a guitar?

Yes, if the gauges are similarly matched to a set of standard guitar strings made for that particular guitar. Violin strings are flatwound, so the tone would be more muted, nice for an archtop jazz guitar. Normal modern guitar strings are roundwound, making the tone brighter and more zingy.

What are the names of the strings on an electric guitar a d e etc?

What is the guitar tuning for Motley Crue?

Good question. I was just looking up Motley Crue tabs and videos, and a lot of people "state" the tuning as being just drop D. As a result, many of the guitar music tabs are wrong too. I believe the correct answer is for most, if not all, songs such as: Girls, girls, girls, Wild Side, Kick Start My Heart...) DROP ALL strings down one whole step. D-G-C-F-A-D. Hope that's right and helps.

What is wrong with your guitar strings and how you are tuning them?

an average guitar has 120 pounds of pressure in it so as long as its tuned properly and sitting correctly on the bridge and neck it should be fine. to tune by an electronic tuner and its (thickest to thinnest) EADGBE twist the tuners until they get to an E that isn't flappy (usually the second time around) its ok to see different letters it means the tuners working but if the strings get too tight they will snap, but no need to worry start at the thickest and work your way down.

Where can you get new strings for your guitar?

A person can go to a variety of places to buy acoustic guitar strings. One place in particular that is generally available nearby in any town is Best Buy. Additionally any local music stores should either have the strings in-stock or have the capability to order them.

What type strings to use on electric Nylon Guitar?

I've never heard of an electric nylon string guitar , so anyone correct me if I'm wrong but acoustic strings all the way. however.. if you got a pickup system that is in the top left of the guitar assuming you're right handed acoustic strings for sure nylon , well the bridge would be kind of different where you'd tie the strings to the bridge , if that is the case nylon all the way. It's tough to answer some questions on here without photos, google the brand , series and model number if you have it written / stamped somewhere on the guitar , if not strings are like 5$ , if you bring it to a shop they'll tell you in two seconds.

What happens if you put the wrong guitar strings in the wrong tuner posts?

Depends. Some left-handed people do it deliberately to adapt the guitar to their handedness, and that works fine. But if you do it in a random way either the strings won't lace up properly or it'll be awfully hard to tune the guitar.

What is dino tune?

How do you change a guitar string?

loosen it till it slips out of the tuner , put a new one in , tighten it to the tuning you want , cut half of the extra part off with wire cutters or a lighter if you smoke and play it about an hour or so till you're bored than if it goes out of tune again , re-tune , this is normal you haven't done anything wrong strings have to stretch once or twice, afterwards cut as much of the string off that flaps from the head of the guitar and you're done.

Anyone use acoustic bass strings on electric bass guitar?
