I've never heard of an electric nylon string guitar , so anyone correct me if I'm wrong but acoustic strings all the way.

however.. if you got a pickup system that is in the top left of the guitar assuming you're right handed acoustic strings for sure

nylon , well the bridge would be kind of different where you'd tie the strings to the bridge , if that is the case nylon all the way.

It's tough to answer some questions on here without photos, Google the brand , series and model number if you have it written / stamped somewhere on the guitar , if not strings are like 5$ , if you bring it to a shop they'll tell you in two seconds.

Whats the difference between an acoustic guitar and a classical acoustic guitar?

Nylon strings are lower tension in comparison to steel strings and have a warmer tone than steel string, thus making steel strings higher tension than nylon with a brighter tone than nylon strings.

What type of fibers are guitar strings made out of?

Classical guitar strings are mainly made out of nylon. Different thickness of the strings allows for differences in tension. Today, string makers are also experimenting with a mixture of carbon and nylon which allows for thinner strings and adds more clarity to the tone. Carbon strings tend to be brighter in tone than the pure nylon strings. Bass strings (lower three strings in a set) have the same nylon core, but they are additionally wrapped with a silver-plated coper wire. Electric guitar strings use the similar process, but with steel instead of nylon. There is a great video on Discovery/Science channel website ("How it's made") that shows the entire process of making steel strings for guitar.

Can you use light guitar strings on an electric acoustic?

You shouldn't do this. They have different types of strings for a reason. But if you're still insistent upon trying it, make sure you have a professional guitar tech do this for you, because chances are, even if you use the exact same gauged strings, you will have to have your truss rod readjusted, which will cost more than buying strings that are made for an electric guitar.

A common pickup for an electric guitar consists of a coil of wire around a small permanent magnet Why will this type of pickup fail with nylon strings?

well nylon is non-magnetic , we have magnets in the pickups for a reason.

Can nylon strings on a classical guitar be replaced with non nylon strings?

yes it can. just go to your local music shop and pick some up. although, it depends on the make and type of your guitar, and i also dont think you can use electric ------------------- ------------------- Don't do this, Nylon and silver strings require a lot less tension than steel strings to be tuned to pitch, so although you will probably get it in tune, the extra tension will pull you guitar's neck forwards, raising the action; throwing off your guitar's intonation; and basically making it unplayable. As classical or flamenco guitars don't need adjustable truss rods to compensate for this excess tension there is nothing you can do about it.

What happens when you put nylon strings on an electric guitar?

you really can't because theres no way to hold them in the bridge properly unless you have a Floyd rose. They won't get picked up on the amp though as theres nothing magnetic for the pickups to produce.

Can you use electric guitar strings on an acoustic?

yeah i accidentally bought them for my warlock because they where the heaviest set in the store before i found out you could use bass strings and banjo strings and they worked just fine.AnswerYou can use acoustic metal strings, although they are heavy and might come up short. You cannot use acoustic nylon (gut) strings. The pickups rely on the metal string reacting with the magnetic field.

Can you use bronze acoustic string on classic acoustic guitar?

If by "classic acoustic guitar" you mean the small bodied, slotted-headstock type of guitar commonly called simply a "classical" guitar, the answer is an emphatic NO. Any type of steel strings on a true classical guitar will ruin it. Classical guitars must be strung with nylon or gut strings only.

Are e strings on and electric guitar the same as on an acustic?

It all depends on what type of acoustic guitar it is, if its a classical then its nylon strung, steel strung acoustics can use the same strings as an electric. Some people prefer "bronze" strings for their acoustic. May 2013 As a side note, It is important to understand strings and acoustic/classical guitars. Classical or palor guitars are best suited using nylon strings since most do not have truss rods in the neck. Therefore keeps the string tension less and not an aid in warping the neck. DO NOT put steel strings on a Classical guitar! Nylon strings also create a warmer more inviting sound for the style of music played. A classical guitar has a slotted headstock not solid and tuning keys are in a downward position. Bronze Phospher strings are best suited for a standard acoustic guitar which Notably has a solid headstock with horizontal tuning keys. These guitars generally have an adjustable truss rod in the neck and aid in support of the string tension pull. Bronze strings allow a less pull on the neck while allowing ease of tuning and a somewhat brighter sound that nylon and warmer than steel. Steel strings can be used on a standard acoustic, but I don't recommended using them. There are many style and gauge strings available for all guitars, when in doubt go to your local music store and ask for help, its free, with the purchase of a set of strings.

What are the easiest acoustic guitar strings to play and have the best sound For an Acousticelectric guitar?

the best string size for this is 8-38 but their very quiet and break easily. its best to just stick with light gauge 9-42 until your fingers develop strength. Think of it like weight training. My advice is to lower the action as its much easier if your strings are low to the fretboard and of course lower tunings aren't as brutal to your fingers.

What are the best nylon strings for a acoustic guitar?

If you're used to nylon strings, you'll find at first that steel strings can hurt your left hand finger tips and if you're playing without a pick you might even tear off some skin of your thumb (you'll have to go at it pretty hard to actually hurt yourself like that, though).Additionally, steel strings are much thinner, and without callused skin on your left hand it might not be possible for you to press them down all the way at first.Once you're used to it, playing steel strings is no harder or easier than nylon.

Can you use acoustic guitar strings for acoustic electric?

using acoustic strings on an electric does not damage the guitar. tightening them too tight does. acoustic strings tend to be thicker than electric strings, so all you have to do is just tune lower to avoid putting too much stress on the neck. i just want to know why they use different materials to make them. ============ Answer No the strings are completely different. It would be much harder to play an electric even if for some reason you did put them on. And you definitely don't want to mix the two! ================ I'd be inclined to think that stringing thicker, shorter acoustic strings on an electric guitar would actually damage the electric guitar. It wasn't built to withstand that kind of string tension. The reverse can be done -- using electric strings on an acoustic guitar -- but you won't get a great deal of tone or attack. Great for a very easy-playing acoustic guitar for songwriting and low-volume playing, though.
