From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Dual Combustion Cycle (also known as the limited pressure or mixed cycle, Seiliger cycle or Sabathe cycle) is a thermal cycle that is a combination of the Otto cycle and the Diesel cycle. Heat is added partly at constant volume and partly at constant pressure, the advantage of which is that more time is available for the fuel to completely combust. Because of lagging characteristics of fuel this cycle is invariably used for diesel and hot spot ignition engines. The dual cycle consists of following operations: # Adiabatic compression # Addition of heat at constant volume. # Addition of heat at constant pressure. # Adiabatic expansion. # Rejection of heat at constant volume.

What is Seliger cycle?

The Seliger cycle is a theoretical thermodynamic cycle used to model the performance of an idealized air-standard dual combustion cycle, commonly used in the study of internal combustion engines. It consists of four processes: isentropic compression, constant volume heat addition, isentropic expansion, and constant volume heat rejection. The cycle is named after Wilhelm Seliger, who first introduced it in the 1940s.

Which class of chordates have a dual life?

Amphibians have a dual life, meaning they go through both aquatic and terrestrial stages during their life cycle. They typically start as larvae in water, undergoing metamorphosis to become adults that live on land.

Who makes simplicity snow blowers?

The Briggs & Stratton engine company founded in 1908 owns and makes Simplicity snow blowers. These blowers include the four-cycle single-stage snow blower, the dual-stage snow blower, the large-frame dual-stage snow blower, and the Simplicity Signature Pro Commercial Duty dual-stage snow blower.

Who Discovered the Dual nature of radiations?

The dual nature of radiation was discovered by Albert Einstein in 1905, through his theory of the photoelectric effect. This theory proposed that light has both wave-like and particle-like properties, leading to the concept of photons.

Can you have a Kenyan passport and British passport?

Yes, it is possible to hold both a Kenyan passport and a British passport. This is known as dual citizenship. Kenya allows its citizens to hold dual citizenship, provided that they comply with the requirements outlined by both countries.

Why dual combustion cycle is called as limited pressure cycle?

In dual combustion cycle heat is added at constant volume which increases the efficiency of cycle, whereas heat addition at constant pressure limits the maximum pressure of the cycle.

What fuel is used in dual cycle?

In a dual cycle engine, both diesel and gasoline can be used as fuel. The dual cycle combines features of both the Otto cycle (gasoline) and the Diesel cycle, allowing for greater efficiency and flexibility in fuel choice. Typically, the fuel used is chosen based on the desired operating conditions and efficiency characteristics. The ability to use different fuels makes the dual cycle versatile in various applications.

What are the advantages of having engines with dual injectors over the conventional engines with single fuel injector?

dual injectors spray more fuel into the engine causing a bigger explosion in the combustion cycle. but, with the added fuel there is added pressure and usually there is a second sparkplug to accomidate for the extra fuel to ignite.

What are the two types of engine?

Based on(1) Diesel Cycle and (2) Dual cycle

What are the two types of diesel engine?

On a v8 will single exhaust make more power vs dual exhaust without a crossover pipe if sized accordingly?

The more air that moves on the final stroke of a combustion cycle, the better the performance. If the single pipe from the engine is large enough, then yes, it can outperform an engine with a true dual exhaust with smaller pipes.

What are the practical applications of dual cycle?

its is used in marine engines

What is the application of dual cycle?

in practical we don't use dualcycle...........

What is the advantage of dual exhaust?

Dual exhaust systems increase capacity of the exhaust system and thus makes it easier for exhaust gasses to exit the combustion chamber. This can result in increased horsepower. However, dual exhaust is often used because the owner prefers a more "throaty" sound.

Why does not exist dual cycle engine?
