H2O There are 2 names of 2 diffrent Atoms in that formuler. Hydrogen H and Oxogen O other atom names include Helium He , Litheum Le , Potasium K and Nitrogen N you can look up all the names of all the atoms on the Periodic Table, this will not only show you the names of the atoms, but there atomic numbers, classifications, atomic weight and much more. If you mean the names of subatomic particles then you have electrons, protons (positive charge)and neutrons (negitive charge). then you have Photons (particle of light), Gravatons (particle of gravity), quarks, higgs bosan and they are the only particles i know with out looking more up more. A Photon is an Anti-Gravaton and a Gravaton is an Anti-Photon. Acording to super symitery there is suposidley a Anti Anti Photon but i havent a clue how that bit works, i dont understand maths lol. Star Trek is 83% Actual Science and Science Therey the rest is what they make up and over exagirate. I first learnt most of this from Star Trek and i confirmed it all by reading the science websites. Imagine the shock i got when i found out that scientists had duplicated a Photon for just under half a second. Ok its not replication or transporter technology, but they are working on it lol.

When an atom loses or gains an electron?

If an atom gains an electron, it becomes an anion, which is negative. Anions are larger than the original atom because of the added electrons. N + electron(-) --> N(-) If an atom loses an electron, it becomes a cation and positively charged. Cations are smaller than the original atom because of the lost electrons. N(2+) = cation
