Not sure, but I had a great Native American stew at Fort Toulouse in Alabama one year. It had smoked turkey, black beans(small ones) corn, Carrots, diced sweet potatoes (I think, possibly carrots). I have looked for a similar recipe on Native American websites, but with no luck. Good luck to you.
