It is difficult to identify a precise date that the Catholic Church accepted the Big Bang theory, but sometime during the late 1920s would be seem to be a plausible time. The Big Bang theory is a comparatively recent development in the history of science. Interestingly, it was a Roman Catholic priest, Monsignor Joseph Lemaître (1894 - 1966), who was also a professor of astronomy and physics at the Catholic Unviersity of Leuven in Belgium, who first published his proposal of what is now called the "Big Bang theory" in 1927. He was elected President of the Pontifical Academy of Sciences a few years before his death. Monsignor Lemaître's suggestion met with some skepticism at first, not so much from the Church, but from the scientific community, which, however, accepted his views within a few years.

Why was the Big Bang neither big nor did it bang?

According to the believes of physics and the big bang, we know that the big bang was both big and a bang. Since we are still receiving radiation from the big bang, So considering that factor I would say that it was big and a bang. What do you believe?

How well is the big bang theory accepted by the scientific community?

The Big Bang Theory is very well accepted by the scientific community; it is considered to be solidly supported, and it is regarded as the best theory that we presently have, to explain the origin of the universe as we know it.

Why did not universe made single after Big Bang?

No one knows exactly why the universe was not made single after the Big Bang. The Big Bang is actually only a single theory on the creation of the universe and is not considered to be scientific fact.Comments: 1) Maybe it's just me, but I don't really understand this question. 2) The Big Bang Theory is, at present, accepted as "scientific fact".Of course, like all scientific theories, it could be proved wrong in the future.

The currently most-accepted scientific model of the universe's beginnings is an explosion called the big bang?

Yes, the Big Bang theory is the most widely accepted scientific model for the universe's beginnings. It posits that the universe began as a hot, dense state and has been expanding and cooling down over billions of years. This theory is supported by evidence such as the cosmic microwave background radiation and the observed redshift of galaxies.
