Fossils are located all over the Earth in sedimentary rock. Good places to look are cliffs, outcrops, streambeds and around quarries. The types of fossils you can find will vary by where you are and how old the rock is. fossils are usually located near oceans, rivers,,and near watery areas.
The worlds oldest fossils were found in an ancient beach in Austrila, they are 3.4 billion years old and are fossils of cells. They have no bones and are mineralized spheres.
Since this is the most recent era, these fossils will be located more closely to the surface so we do not have to dig as far to find them.
In Pokemon Emerald, the researcher on reviving Pokemon fossils is located in the Fossil Maniac's house in Fallarbor Town. You can find him by entering the house and interacting with him to revive fossils into Pokemon.
The fossils are typically found in the uppermost layer of rock, as sedimentary rock is formed from the accumulation of materials over time. Newer layers are deposited on top of older layers, meaning that the youngest fossils would be located in the most recent (top) strata. Therefore, the youngest fossils are in the layer that is highest in the sequence shown.

Of course they did! Scientist have found fossils that are dated to about 600,000-350,000 years ago.For that matter, "neanderthals" were human, Homo sapiens neanderthalensis. They are considered a subspecies... about as closely related to modern humans as dogs are to wolves, for example.
The Neander Valley, Germany.
One of the first controversies surrounding Neanderthals was their classification as a separate species from modern humans. Initially, some scientists argued that Neanderthals were a subspecies or a primitive race within the Homo sapiens lineage. However, subsequent research based on fossils and genetic evidence supported their designation as a distinct species, Homo neanderthalensis.
Of curse there are, they are mainly located in sedimentary rocks, the only rocks in which fossils can be found.
The football hooligan behaved like a Neanderthal. A Neanderthal skeleton was uncovered at the site of the proposed new shopping centre.
Genetic evidence shows that Neanderthals and Cro-Magnon people shared a common ancestor, but Cro-Magnon individuals did not directly descend from Neanderthals. Fossils also indicate that both groups coexisted but remained genetically distinct. Additionally, archaeological findings suggest that Cro-Magnon culture was more advanced than Neanderthal culture, pointing to separate evolutionary paths.
