I think that Shimla is at higher elevation than Delhi is. If that is the case, than it is because the barometric pressure goes down at higher elevations.

See the Related Questions link to the left of this answer for more about how the boiling point of water is affected by the air pressure.

Why boiling point of water in Shimla in lower than that in Delhi?

It depends what your altitude is compared to sea level. The lower below sea level you are, the more atmospheric pressure there is thus increasing boiling point; pressure raises the boiling point. That is why your auto has a pressurized cooling system - to stop boil over.

Where the rice boil first at shimla or at delhi and why-?

Boiling point changes with altitude because of the atmospheric pressure. Rice will therefore boil first at Delhi because of the low altitude.

Does ethanol has the lower boiling point?

It depends what chemical or compound you are comparing the boiling point to. Ethanol has an atmospheric pressure boiling point of 78.1 °C (172.6 °F). This is slightly lower than the boiling point of water at the same pressure, much lower than the boiling point of iron, much higher than the boiling point of bromine.

Why does the boiling point of methylated spirits drop?

The boiling point of methanol is lower than the boiling point of ethanol.

Can the freezing point be lower than its boiling point in a constant pressure?

At a constant pressure, the freezing point is always going to be lower than the boiling point.

Why acetone lowers the boiling point of water whereas salt and sugar raise the boiling point and lower the melting point?

Acetone is a liquid with a boiling point lower than that of water; the other two are solids.

What is the effect of salt in boiling and freezing temperatures?

The freezing point is lower and the boiling point is higher.

What happens to water if you lower its pressure?

you lower its boiling point.

What is the relation between the altitude compared to sea level and the boiling point of water?

In general, the higher the altitude, the lower the pressure, and the lower the pressure the lower the boiling point.

Why can't and alcohol thermometer be used to measure the boiling point of water?

Alcohol thermometers typically have a lower maximum temperature range compared to mercury thermometers, making them unsuitable for measuring the high boiling point of water. Alcohol thermometers may not accurately measure temperatures above their boiling point, which is lower than water's boiling point.

Who has the lowest boiling point fraction petrol or diesel?

Petrol has a lower boiling point than diesel. This is because petrol is a lighter fraction of crude oil, consisting of shorter hydrocarbon chains, which results in a lower boiling point compared to diesel.

What is the boiling point of water in Delhi?

The boiling point of water (at standard pressure) is 100 deg C. The mean air pressure in Dehli depends mainly on its altitude and on the weather circumstances: high or low pressure area.
