The answer is FALSE
A S/PDIF (Sony-Phillips Digital Interface) sound port connects to an external home theater audio system, providing digital output and the best signal quality.
If your tv has RCA out, use that. If not, you could use an external digital cable tuner and connect that to your soundbar .
Speakers are analog devices. There is no cable and connector that will connect a digital audio jack to a speaker without a digital to analog conversion and an amplifier. If the audio output is digital, you will need a compatible amplifier that has the same digital input. Then you will need to link the amplifier to the speaker with exterior grade cable.
You cannot connect a HDMI to a VGA video output on a computer. VGA is an analog signal and the DVI adapter connects it to the analog pins on the DVI cable (a DVI-I cable has both analog and digital pins). A HDMI to DVI cable connects to the cable's digital pins, therefore, no connection is being made. The easiest way to do this is to upgrade your computer's video card to one with a HDMI output. These can be purchased for less than $50.00, and will allow you to connect your computer to your TV with one cable and no adapters.
A coaxial digital output (usually an RCA jack) can connect to a digital optical input using a coaxial to optical digital converter. This is a small box that goes in between the two products.

FireWire -Matt Dodge
Firewire connections are connections for Firewire devices to connect to a computer or some other Firewire device. They are often found on digital video cameras and high level digital audio equipment.
Manufactured and sold by Western Digital, the firewire external hard drive has received mostly favorable reviews on the web. Amazon rates it at 4.4 out of 5 stars total, while Tiger Direct has a 4.3 out of 5 stars.
Sony/Philips Digital Interface. Provides digital output and the best signal quality. Connects to an external home theater audio system.
The hard drive can be connected through USB, eSATA or FIREWIRE.
Yes. While not as popular as USB, firewire is still definitely used today. Today, firewire is the dominant way of transferring digital video from a camera to a PC. Update: Yes if you have a free compatible expansion slot (e.g. PCI), your Firewire or 1394 card will still be usable. I recently added a my old PCI Firewire card to one of the new machines. These are used primarily for Video capture/transfer or even for some external HDD or DVD drives which have a Firewire interface. - Neeraj Sharma
Look for a connector labeled Optical out or Coaxial audio out on the back of the tv set. Your home theater system will need one of these same input connectors.
FireWire
firewire header is aserial bus used to exchange digital and audio data with high performace abilities.
HDMI is the latest consumer standard for digital video with digital audio intended for interconnecting AV devices such as Blu-ray players and TVs. Firewire is an oldeer computer standard for digital data transfer most often used for things like high speed connections between external hard disk drives and PCs. Early digital camcorders used Firewire for transferring images and sound at high speed into PCs but the highest bandwidth it is capable of is just 800Mbps which is way slower than HDMI
