How do you connect stereo speakers to pc?

Regular passive (non-amplified) speakers will need to be connected to a power amp (an old stereo receiver can do this). Connect the line out of the computer to the aux or tape in of the receiver, and then connect speaker cables from the receiver to each of the speakers.

Can you plug your Bose speakers directly into receiver?

It depends on the speakers. Bose computer speakers are not designed to connect directly to speaker inputs on your receiver, as they have their own amplifier. All Bose home stereo speakers can be connected.

Sony Str De 597 Connect the receiver to the subwoofer speaker?

At the rear of the receiver there is a single RCA jack (phono socket) that is marked "audio out" and "sub-woofer". This is a mono feed that can be connected to a powered sub bass unit. It will not drive an un-powered bass speaker that does not have an internal amplifier. If the bass speaker is not powered, the audio out from the receiver can be taken to a single channel of another amplifier and the bass speaker then connected to the speaker output of the amplifier.

Do you connect speakers to receiver or amplifier?

Depends on what your definition of "receiver" is, but most of the time - to the amplifier. Consider: if the receiver is some form of a device that receives some signal, and then decodes it to audio, then the receiver will hook into the amplifier, which in turn will drive the speakers (so the speakers go to the amplifier) if, on the other hand, the receiver is a part of a wireless connection between the amplifier and speaker, then it really serves the role of a cable, so in essence you're again connecting the speakers to an amplifier (only using the receiver as an intermediary) You would have to specify your case.

Do they make wireless surround sound?

Yes they do make wireless surround sound. If you purchase wireless receiver box you will have speakers that are in the front (which doesn't need to be wireless since it's connected to you TV) and you have the right and left which rest behind you. The wireless receiver box connects to a power outlet and sends the single to the two rear speakers. This setup eliminates running speaker wires from the receiver to your speakers.

What cables does an acousticmass 7 need and how do you hook it up?

It uses ordinary speaker cables. Unlike modern surround speaker systems, the Acoustimass 7 does not have a powered subwoofer. The only way to connect it to a surround receiver is to use the speaker level outputs from the right, center and left channels. They connect to the sub, and then on to each of the front 3 speakers. You will need to tell your receiver that there is no connected subwoofer, and that the size of the front 3 speakers is 'large'.

If the speakers are not powered (they don't plug into the wall), you can cut off the RCA plug, strip back the wires to a negative and positive lead, and connect them to the speaker posts of the receiver.

Where do the cables from a Purtone HPD -710 connect to on to a Emerson tv?

The Purtone HPD-710 system consists of passive speakers that need an amplifier to drive them. Unfortunately, even the subwoofer needs an amp. An Emerson TV will not have speaker outputs, it will have RCA line-level outputs. You must plug the TV into a surround-sound receiver to amplify the signal. Then connect speaker cables from the receiver to the Purtone speakers. Since the sub has no amp, you will need a receiver with a subwoofer amp function, which are not common.

You do not receive a receiver to hook up speakers to your tv. An jack that contains the speaker to your TV is all that you need.
