it is a sensor on the transmission, you can get to it from the top under the hood, on the right side, when buying replacement auto parts guy should be able to point it out for you.
before trying to replace the ignition switch try spraying a small amount of lubricant into the keyhole and insert key and wiggle it in the switch to see if the keepers are stuck. if it works it could save a lot of time and money
I believe it is on the drivers side behind the fuse box. I am dealing with this myself. It has 3 prongs and there is a relay switch beside it. My fusible link gets hot.
Gently remove the plastic cover from the dash by prying it out and down with a popsicle stick or somthing similar. Remove the three screws underneath and slowly pull the switch assembly out from the dash until you get hold of the multi pin plug. There is not alot of play in the length of wires so do not worry if it seems difficult. More in half an hour !
might depend on what year you have,i have a 93 and on the right fender you will see 5 relays 2 will be on the shock mount ,then under lip of fender you will see 3 relays the one closest to shock mount should be the relay your looking for.

All Bulbs were replaced. fuses all checked, relay switch new and flasher, Also when the relay switch is in it gets really hot. Any suggestions
Remove the dash bezel, remove the switch, reverse process with new switch.
pry out the control switch and disconnect the electrical connectors.install is reverse.
