What is importance of the project tracking bill system
Sorry but for me the fathers of OS are Kenneth Lane Thompson and Dennis Ritchie, creators of UNIX Bill Gates
he payed around 40000 dollars.
YES...if your name is bill gates If you have his permission, or you could just change your o.s. yourself from xp to vista or whatever.
Yes, the earliest computers built did not have operating systems (the idea of an operating system had not been thought of) so individual programs were loaded and run one at a time. The first computer I used (in 1973) had no operating system, programs punched on decks of cards were loaded and run one at a time. The first microcomputers sold did not have enough memory to load an operating system. When Bill Gates wrote the original version of Microsoft BASIC for the MITS Altair 8800 the standard 8800 came with only 256 bytes of RAM and Microsoft BASIC could not run with less than 4096 bytes of RAM (it was already very expensive to expand the RAM to that size), so Microsoft BASIC was written to run without an operating system. There are also embedded system computers that are dedicated to one purpose and usually run one preloaded program supplied by the manufacturer and do not allow other programs to be loaded. While some embedded system computers do use an operating system, it is also common for the preloaded program to be written to directly control all the hardware directly without the need for an operating system.
AnswerActually it was Gary Kildall who invented the first operating system... Patterson bought it for 5 bucks at a hackers computer store. All Patterson did was switch the A drive and the C drive and called it his own. IBM went to Kildall first but he wasn't home and his wife wouldn't sign the non-disclosure paper. Then Bill Gates called Patterson and gave him 50,000 for the operating system and all the rights to it. Kildall was killed in a bar fight in 1994 after becoming an alcoholic because he watched his life's work being taken from him. Tim Patterson and Microsoft didn't actually do anything. Tim Patterson (with a little help from Bill and Steve) created DOS. Bill Gates and Steve Ballmer worked together on the first GUI OS (Windows).
Bill Gates created DOS, that lead to the development of Windows, the world's most popular Operating System.

Bill Gates was responsible for the development of the MS DOS computer operating system. Thereafter the Microsoft oeprating systems and most of the "Office Suit" programs that are in general use today.
An operating system developed by Bill Gates for personal computers. Microsoft Disk Operating System.

Bill Gates did not invent Windows; rather, he co-founded Microsoft, which developed the Windows operating system. Windows was first released on November 20, 1985, as a graphical user interface for MS-DOS. Gates played a significant role in its development and promotion, helping to establish Windows as a dominant operating system in the personal computer market.

Bill Gates has faced many obstacles in his career. For example, his operating system had to compete with rivals such as Apple.
