Best Answer

Glucose compounds are joined together in a chain of molecules by a process of dehydration synthesis. The process of joining glucose compounds through the removal of water leads the the creation of starch.

Through this process, hydrogen (H) and hydroxide (OH) ends are removed and joined separately to make water. Multiple bonds of hundreds of glucose can form complex sugars and polysaccharides such as starch.

Where does the leaf convert glucose to so you can be stored?

it is temporarily stored as starch in the starch granules.moreover,it can also be converted to simpler sugars at night.

What compound are glucose molecules stored in?

It would be more accurate to say that glucose molecules are converted to starch for storage. To make starch, the glucose units join together in a long chain, like beads on a necklace. In order to form the links, each glucose must drop a few atoms so the whole glucose is not present in the starch.

Where is glucose in a plant stored?

Glucose that is not utilized immediately for the plants growth are stored. The unused glucose is converted to starch molecules and stored throughout the cytoplasm

Yes both of them are. o2 is the byproduct.First glucose is produced.Later glucose is converted into strach and other molecules

What converts insoluble starch to insoluble sugar?

Firstly what the end products of the starch converting to glucose are soluble. Starch is converted to alpha glucose monomers by the addition of water to the glycosidic bonds which join the glucose molecules together. This addition of water is a hydrolysis reaction and seperates the glucose molocules form the starch polymer. The enzyme amalayse is responsible for catalysing the break down of starch into SOLUBLE glucose molecules (monomers).

Why does the starch need to be converted into sugar before it is used to make ethanol?

Starch is the storage form of glucose in plants. Glucose is compounded into chians called starch and stored for later use. During times when there is a deficiency of glucose in plant cells, this stored starch can be broken down back into glucose and used in various metabolic processes

Glucose molecules that are produced by green plants can be?
