Because Americans and other western cultures are raised to think being gay is weird. It's a religious thing, mostly; Americans tend to be the worst about it. Japanese and Chinese don't care so much, and some cultures think you have sex with men for fun and sex with women only so you can have babies.
Fear is the most simple answer. As a gay male teenager I find that other guys make dislike a lot. I believe this comes from the fear that I may want to sleep with them, hence homophobia. Fear can quite easily lead to hatred. They also like to torment their other friends. And this... Just because our society is hostile to homosexuality, people -- especially guys -- who are unsure of their own sexual orientation may go out of their way to "act straight" by teasing, tormenting or even bashing openly gay people.
Unfortunately, some people may make fun of others based on their sexual orientation due to ignorance, fear, or prejudice. It's important to educate and promote acceptance to create a more inclusive and supportive environment for everyone. Stand up against discrimination and support those who may be experiencing harassment.
Society is like a body. If something strange enters it, they attack it like white blood cells, because as far as we know, life as it is without them is fine. They aren't like us, therefore there must be something wrong with them. More recently, though, this body has been letting the odd ones in more and we are becoming more accepting.

Making fun of other people is a sign of a person's low self esteem. Making fun of others, like bullying, is an effort to raise one's self esteem by attempting to lower that of anyone else's. It doesn't work, of course, because it's a way to NOT deal with the real problem.
Children may love going to school because it provides them with opportunities to learn new things, interact with friends, and participate in fun activities. School can also offer a sense of routine and structure, which can be comforting for some children. Additionally, the guidance and support from teachers can make school a positive and engaging environment for many children.
Self-effacing humor is a type of humor in which individuals make fun of themselves in a light-hearted and non-offensive way. It involves poking fun at one's own flaws, mistakes, or shortcomings to evoke laughter from others. This type of humor can help to build rapport and make others feel more comfortable around the person exhibiting self-effacing humor.
You'll have loads of fun -be sure to make as many friends as you can and don't be afraid to ask for help on your way to classes - people will understand!

We all know how hard it is fitting in. Middle school is even harder to fit in. Just follow these rules on how to be popular. -Be a cheerleader. You see how popular cheerleaders are in movies but being a cheerleader will help you open up. Some schools don't allow activities for sixth or seventh graders. -Never ever join some lame show choir or glee! Ever! Many people will make fun of you and you're probably the type of person that says you don't care what people think of you. But it will ruin your life! -Never tell people that you're rich! If you tell people at school that you're rich people will find out and they will black mail you or do worse things. How do I know about this? I've been through it. I watched people go through it. Middle school and high school will be very hard and fun. Be yourself. Have fun. dance in the halls randomly have fun. make people laugh duh. that is all it takes be nice and have fun.
Not an official school, but you can buy books to make them smarter. There is also a Neoschool Shop for 'school supplies'. Also, some people hold 'Neoschool' on the boards for fun.

fun things to do
I had braces for three long years. I was a rebellious braces wearer, breaking brackets like you wouldn't believe, so I asked for it. I had rubber bands in my mouth, springs, and wires so thick my teeth looked gray. That said, I never had anyone make fun of me, besides a few playful remarks from friends. I wore them in seventh, eighth, and ninth grade. That's middle school and the beginnings of high school here, and no one made fun of me. Really, so many people have braces nowadays that you really won't find too many people malicious enough to make fun of you. If they do, they generally aren't the mature kind of people you want to be around anyway. The answer above is true, but also, you don't get made fun of. It is just that you are scared. When I first got my braces I said I wouldn't let people see my teeth again, but then the people I showed at school said they looked good. So don't worry!
