To answer this question is very simple.. to act according to the answer is a different story.
Why can't you greet the boy you like... Because your shy... But are you really shy?
Let's think about this for a second... We all have sides that we don't feel comfortable showing them to the world. However... there is nothing wrong with being honest (considering the limits of normality and decency).
If you could see yourself near that person....then act as if you are there too. Never let dust cover your value. Show him that you are real and capable of communicating (which is key to everything and a sign of courage).
...and if he's acting weird, showing off, being a jerk... it means either he is not mature enough, scared of a girl or just plain stupid.
Go ahead... you've got nothing to lose.. but maybe everything to gain!
