The Buddha (Siddharta Gautami, also called Shakyamuni), lived 1100 years before the Prophet Mohammed (peace be upon him), and 500 years before Jesus. His teachings are similar to those found in deep esoteric Judaism (for example, Kabbalah), and are also similar to those found in the Holy Q'uran, especially where teachings about kindness are concerned.
However, the similarities are largely due to revelations of truth being universal, rather than any particular influence. There is no credible evidence that Buddhism ever had deep influence on Islam.
