Both cultures were polytheistic
Polytheists are people who believe in more than one god. As most religions were polytheistic prior to missionaries spreading monotheism, and all cultures have religion, polytheism would reasonably be expected to have existed since prehistoric times. Further, when explorers met prehistoric cultures (cultures that did not yet have written records), many of them were polytheistic.
Polytheistic Religion
As far as I understand it, Moses. All the civilizations and cultures prior to Moses were polytheistic, the egyptians etc. Anyone understand this better? Well I mean God spoke to Noah? but the cultures in that time in that area were all polytheistic.
The most common synonym used for polytheistic is "pagan", but this is generally seen a pejorative.
The most common religion in Egypt now is Islam. But before they started to get taken over by other cultures, Egyptians practiced a polytheistic religion where the people believed in an afterlife. This was in ancient times.
Most religions are polytheistic, monotheistic, or particularistic. Some monotheistic religions are particularistic as are polytheistic. There are no religions that are all three.
Most of them are, but, not all of them.
