Because many in those religions who make up Christianity, Judaism, and Islam do not properly reflect God. If one examines the lives of those claiming to be representatives of God then often you'll find out whether they actually know him and thus properly serve him. He makes clear how he expects people to behave and what is and isn't good behavior. Jesus said you could identify his followers by the love that they showed. Now that would mean that following Bible principles would show that we love God's righteous standards and want to follow them. We can try and twist them to fit what we want but that will only show how selfish we are and unloving. That is why the world is full of problems and violence and how there seems to be no answers. There are answers just not the ones selfish people want.

The old city of Jerusalem is sacred to what 3 religions?

Judaism, Christianity and Islam. Though Islam doesn't view Jerusalem in the same manner as Judaism or Christianity. For Judaism and Christianity, Jerusalem is place of the world's foundation and the city where G-d's presence once rested. Islam's holy city is actually Mecca, in Saudi Arabia. Islam's claim to Jerusalem is political, not religious (or at least not at all in the way Christians and Jews view Jerusalem).

What do Catholics believe in linking Judaism Christianity and Islam?

Catholicism is nothing other than Judaism fulfilled. Our Blessed Lord, Jesus Christ, was a Jew and He was God, He came and fulfilled the old covenant to the letter, and established the new and everlasting covenant. To the best of my knowledge, I have never heard of a Catholic linking Islam with either Judaism or Christianity, although I believe the secular press does because they view all three as Abrahamic religions.

Is paganism and Scientology the same thing?

Well not really, It depends on what religion you have. Christianity says all other religions are Paganists but, the same goes for the Islam. Commonly, Christianity, Judaism, and the Islam are called: non-pagans. and since Scientology is a christian cult, it can't be considered Paganistic. (but that's my view on this)

What was Noah Webster's view on Christianity?

How did Muhammad's teachings compare to Judaism and Christianity How did they contrast with common Arab beliefs of the time?

A:Islam accepts the prophets of Judaism, as well as Christianity's John the Baptist. Of course, only Islam teaches that Muhammad was the last prophet of God. Early Muslims accepted the Old Testament view that Abraham was told to sacrifice Isaac, but the consensus of later Islamic scholars is that it must have been Ishmael whom Abraham was to kill. This encouraged suspicion among Muslims that the Jews altered their own holy books to glorify Judaism. In most ways, Islam is more similar to Christianity than to Judaism. For example, Islam shares with Christianity a belief in hell and a belief that Satan is the evil adversary of God.Islam believes that Jesus had a divine role. Although not divine himself, Jesus was one of the great prophets, a view not shared by Judaism. The consequence of this belief is that Islam is closer to Judaism in one respect - they are both more strongly monotheistic than Christianity because of Christianity's belief in the divinity of Jesus (and of the Holy Spirit).Unique to Islam among the Abraham religions is belief in jinn. These were pre-Islamic spirits that are mostly evil but can be good.

Can you explain why for Muslims turning from Jerusalem and facing Mecca is called a symbolic break with the past?

It was, in fact, not a break from the past. Jerusalem is still a sacred city for the Muslims. Islam is the continuation of Judaism and Christianity. The Muslims must believe in all the Prophets (May peace be upon them all). It was the secret wish of the Holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad SAW that the House of Almighty Allah, built by Hazrat Abraham AS should become the Ka'abah for the Muslims. His wish was granted by Almighty Allah.

What did the old testament prophets view to be the ultimate apologetic?

Apologetics didn't come about until the formation of Christianity. There is no such concept in Judaism and the Tanach (Jewish Bible) as Judaism teaches that there are different paths for different people and therefore doesn't have to defend itself against other religions.

Did Judaism come before Islam?

No. Islam was founded with Muhammad in the year 622, while Judaism was founded with Abraham around 1800 BCE. The beginning of Islam is shared by Judaism regarding the tradition of the beginning of the world and its creation, Adam, Eve, Cain, and Abel and all the beginning. Then it sectioned off from their founders, but both share some common beliefs and prophets. Although Islam sees Jesus as a true prophet, while Judaism does not view him as a prophet. Islam sees Judaism and Christianity as a true religion with mistakes in its understanding, while Judaism sees Islam and Christianity as false religions for Jews (and okay for non-Jews).Yes & No! In fact, Judaism is older than Islam because the prophet Moses came before both of Jesus & Muhammad Peace be upon all of them, but according to the Islamic teachings the Original message of Judaism & that of Christianity is to believe in the oneness of God with no one associated to Him & this is what all the divine messages called for, so Islam (as a concept) is the oldest message of monotheism.
