The Filipino people are believed to have originated from a combination of Austronesian, Malay, Chinese, Spanish, and other influences over centuries of trade, migration, and colonization in the Philippines. The Austronesian migration theory suggests that the earliest settlers in the Philippines came from Taiwan around 4,000 to 2,000 BC, bringing with them their language, culture, and agricultural practices. Subsequent waves of migration and trade contributed to the diverse ancestry of the Filipino people today.
Some Filipino words that originated from Chinese include 'kuya' (older brother), 'suki' (frequent customer), and 'siopao' (steamed bun). These words have been incorporated into Filipino vocabulary due to the historical interactions and influence from Chinese culture in the Philippines.
The Filipino language for the most part has stayed the same. However, just as many words from the Spanish language was adopted in history into some of the Filipino dialects, primarily Tagalog, English is also finding it's way into acceptance. However, it is in the form some may know as Taglish. English verbs or adjectives are taken and modified by repeating the first few letters to represent a new Taglish word to enhance the expressions or to use for a better lack of word. Hope this helps! http://www.MeetFilipinoFriends.com Chat with filipino friends

I don't think Philippines have a pure Filipino values of their own. All the values exhibited at present are acquired from various cultures. Respecting the elderly and being a close-knit family is also the same as with our neighbouring Asian countries. Predilection for new technology and cartoons came from the Japanese. Siesta, fiesta and fatalism came from the Spaniards. And so on. The values that our families brought us up with display the strength of our moral fiber.
