Not really anything, if you are using the word Christian to refer to someone who is not Catholic. Messiani and Christian are commonly used in modern times to refer to people outside the Catholic Church, so there is no difference at all, Messiani are just another form of protestant.

If you look at the particular practices and beliefs of Messianic Jews, it would be more proper to consider them a Protestant Christian Denomination that is trying to recapture Jewish elements (like Seventh Day Adventism). Although it has the name "Judaism" in its title "Messianic Judaism" is a form of Christianity, not Judaism.
