Depending who you ask... The general tendency is for each religion to think of all others as false. I would recommend to consider the words of The Bible which say something in the sense that you can recognize false prophets "by their fruits" - thus, you should stay away from religions whose "fruits" are undesirable - for example, those who preach violence, inequality, etc.

There are many religions in the world. Followers of each religion may consider the other religions as false, simply because they do not follow them. This view is particularly prevalent with monotheistic religions, because to acknowledge other religions would mean there are more than just one God.

Atheists would, of course, regard all religions as false, at least in the sense that there is no god.

Some Christians teach that the prophecy of "Babylon the Great" in Revelation chapters 17 and 18 refers to false religion. And that the destruction of false religion will come at the hands of the governments of man, or the "wild beast" portrayed in the same passage.

Since what is true or right is defined by the person who regards another's beliefs as 'false religion', we could define false religion as 'whatever I [insert name] personally do not believe'.
