The Hittite Empire had its base in what is now known as Turkey from around 1700 B.C.E. At its height it included most of Asia Minor as well as parts of the northern Levant and Upper Mesopotamia. Its remnants survived until about 700 B.C.E.

The Hittite language was one of the Indo-European Language group, which also includes English, German, Greek, Latin, Persian, and the languages of northern India. So one may say that Americans of European descent share common ancestors with the Hittites. More than likely they are also common ancestors of the Aryan peoples who spread from the northern European lands to the south-east into the Indus Valley, including modern-day Pakistan and India.
