Hannah was rather old , while the other wife had several children. Hannah made a promise to God, that she would give her child to serve God in the temple , under Eli, the priest. But God called samuel to be the youngest prophet.
Hannah gives up Samuel as a vow to the Lord that if he granted her a son, she would give him back to serve in the house of the Lord. This act reflects Hannah's devotion and faithfulness to God.
I believe it was Samuel who asked God that he would give him wisdom...
In the Bible, it is written that God closed Hannah's womb as a test of faith and to show his power by miraculously granting her a child, Samuel. It was part of his plan to demonstrate his sovereignty and bring forth a significant figure in history.
The book of Joshua is in the Old Testament, not the New Testament. The main theme of Joshua is the fulfillment of God's promise to give the land of Canaan to the Israelites and the importance of faithfulness and obedience in following God's commands.
The book in the Old Testament that contains 150 hymns used to worship God is the Book of Psalms. It is a collection of poetic songs and prayers that cover a wide range of emotions and themes, often used in religious services and personal devotions.
The Bible verse found in Luke 1:31 states: "And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bear a son, and you shall call his name Jesus." This verse is part of the annunciation of the birth of Jesus to Mary by the angel Gabriel.
Hannah named her son Samuel because she had asked God to give her a son. And Samuel meant "heard by God".
In the book of Samuel we read that Hannah visited the temple and prayed to God to give her a child, and the priest thought that she was drunk. She even made a bold promise to god that , if he did hear her prayer and also answer it, she would give the boy to work in the temple. She kept her word and samuel the son becomes the youngest prophet in the bible.
In order to give us the background information that Hannah had been barren and prayed to God that she should bear children.

Samuel is the son of Hannah, and as he got him after a long time , she had promised God that if God did give her a son she would give him to serve in the temple , and she did so when the boy was small, it was under Eli that called Samuel to be a prophet.
The Song of Hannah is a poem interrupting the prose text of the Books of Samuel. Hannah was the mother of the prophet Samuel. There was a point in Hannah's life where she had no kids, and she was desperate to have one. She pleaded to God to allow her to have a child. She promised God, that if He would give her a child, she would give him to the Lord's work, meaning being instituted into a temple, learning about God. She represents the model mother because even though she didn't have to give her son Samuel to the priests for him to be devoted for the rest of his life, Hannah chose to do so because she loved God more. Which she clearly showed. I am glad you have an interest in the bible. God bless :)
1Sam:1:20: Wherefore it came to pass, when the time was come about after Hannah had conceived, that she bare a son, and called his name Samuel, saying, Because I have asked him of the LORD. Hannah was the mother of Samuel.
